About EfficiEvent.com

Hi, I’m Riikka. I’ve worked on everything from local roller derby tournaments to international youth games—usually while thinking, “I swear I was just supposed to help out with registration.”

Like a lot of people in events, I kind of fell into it.

And then stayed.

And then accidentally became the person in charge of things like sport manuals, arrival forms, and “where is the accreditation printer?” emergencies.

What EfficiEvent is (and what it’s not)

EfficiEvent is my attempt to make sense of the chaos. It’s where I put everything I’ve learned about planning sport events with delegations, teams, and all the weird moving parts that nobody explains.

It’s not about shiny theory or perfect systems. It’s practical, slightly messy, and built for people who want to do a good job without having to reinvent every spreadsheet from scratch.

From law enforcement to lanyards

I started in law enforcement, where managing stress, teams, and cases was part of the job. Somehow, I ended up using those same skills to keep sport events from falling apart.

Turns out, tracking details across moving parts and making judgment calls when no one else wants to transfers nicely to handling volunteers, VIP guests, and athletes who’ve just landed at an airport that doesn't have stairs high enough to get them out of the plane (true story, thanks Kajaani!).

So here I am. Still planning, still fixing things, just with more credentials and fewer handcuffs.

Tools, not fluff

I’m not here to motivate you into being your “best event leader self.” I’m here to help you figure out which form to send, when to send it, and how to stop your inbox from turning into a nervous breakdown.

I make tools—templates, manuals, cheat sheets—the kinds of things I wish someone had handed me the first time I got volunteered into running an event. They're made to be used, adapted, and passed on.

If you’ve ever felt in over your head…

This is for the people staring at a blank doc at 11 pm, wondering how they ended up coordinating 200 people with a Google Sheet and a prayer.

If you’ve ever thought, “There has to be an easier way to do this,” you’re right. And that’s what I’m trying to build here.

Scroll around, steal what you need, and pretend you made it yourself. No judgment. You’re probably too busy to read this anyway.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.
